Spain has only been a democracy for just over 30 years. This reproduction of the front page of a newspaper from 1978 announcing the new constitution is set into the pavement in the main square in Malaga.

Walking around Old Malaga

We spent a day walking around Malaga with a friend who showed us the old parts of the city. Many of the old buildings have unfortunately been lost but there’s enough left to give a fascinating insight into its history. Malaga is a city developed by the middle class, not the aristocracy. It has a very cosmopolitan flavour and style because it has  been populated by people from all over Europe over the years. The Italian influence, in particular has been very pronounced.
